Another exciting game for Faenza (6-1) which played on the court of 3rd placed Palermo (5-2). Sixth ranked Faenza upset home team edging them after exciting game by one point 49-48. Faenza outrebounded Palermo 39-22 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for Lithuanian center Ieva Preskienyte (193-93, agency: ProDep Management) who led her team to a victory scoring 7 points and 11 rebounds. The former international forward Simona Ballardini (181-81) helped adding 11 points and 4 assists. At the losing side Dutch-Australian center Jacinta Vandenberg (196-93, college: Oregon) responded with 12 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Rosa Cupido (168-92) scored 7 points and 7 assists. Faenza moved-up to third place in A2. Palermo at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Faenza will play against Bologna (#4) at home in the next round. Palermo will play against Umbertide and hopes to get back on the winning track.
