Regular Season Round 6: Cerdanyola - Coruna 53-57

Coruna has finally registered their first victory this season after five consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Cerdanyola, where they defeated Cerdanyola (0-6) 57-53 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was forward Andrea Perez (178-93) who scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. Finnish guard Anissa Pounds (174-90, college: Arkansas Tech) chipped in 11 points. At the other side the best for losing team was center Marta Arbizu (187-91) who recorded 22 points and 7 rebounds and guard Blanca Garcia (183-89) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Cerdanyola's coach Juan Couto tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Coruna (1-5) left bottom position moving up to twelfth place in Group A. It was Cerdanyola's sixth loss in a row. Cerdanyola at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Arxil Pontev.. Coruna will meet at home higher ranked Mataro Parc (#9) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Cerdanyola will play against the league's leader Ardoi (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
