Regular Season Round 6: UCAM Jairis - Adelantados 43-65

There was no surprise in Alcantarilla where 13th ranked UCAM Jairis (1-5) was outplayed by second ranked Adelantados (5-1) 65-43 on Saturday. Adelantados forced 23 UCAM Jairis turnovers and outrebounded them 43-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. American guard Tanaya Atkinson (183-96, college: Temple) scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Senegalese center Maimouna Diarra (198-91, agency: ProDep Management) chipped in 8 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was power forward Raquel Navarro-Martinez (183-97) with 10 points and 6 rebounds and Ana Faussurier (190-94, college: Arkansas) scored 5 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Adelantados have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position in Group B with 5-1 record behind leader Campus Promete. Newly promoted UCAM Jairis dropped to the twelfth place with five games lost. Adelantados will face league's leader Campus Promete in Logrono in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. UCAM Jairis will play on the road against Leganes (#6) and hope to win that game.
