The game with biggest result difference took place in Chengdu. Local Blue Whales (5-4) outscored 13th ranked Red Wolves (2-7) 106-59 on Saturday night. Blue Whales dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Red Wolves' 40 and made 23-of-25 free shots (92.0 percent) during the game, while Red Wolves only scored seven points from the stripe. They outrebounded Red Wolves 54-23 including a 39-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Blue Whales looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Red Wolves' players. The best player for the winners was Belarusian center Yelena Leuchanka (196-83, college: W.Virginia) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 17 rebounds. Forward Xuetong Zhao (185-94) chipped in 18 points. Four Blue Whales players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Taiwanese Hsi-Yeh Liu (180-98) who recorded 12 points and center Xueru Ma (168) added 11 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Blue Whales maintains seventh place with 5-4 record, which they share with 3 other teams. Red Wolves lost their seventh game in a row. They dropped to the fourteenth position with seven games lost. Blue Whales will face Magic Deer (#8) in Urumqi in the next round. Red Wolves will play at home against Flame (#5) and hope to win that game.
