Regular Season Round 7: Aquimisa LZ - Gijon 94-83
Date: November 10, 2018
Very expected game when 12th ranked Gijon (1-6) was defeated on the road by first ranked Zamorano (5-2) 94-83 on Saturday. Zamorano dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Gijon's 38. It was a great evening for American-Italian point guard Anthony Libroia (180-94, college: Adelphi) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 4 steals. French point guard Sango Niang (183-93, college: Simon Fraser) helped adding 18 points. At the losing side American guard Martyce Kimbrough (185-96, college: Findlay, OH, agency: Duran International) responded with 25 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian center Nemanja Djordjevic (203-95) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Despite that victory Zamorano went down to second position (Silver) due to points difference. Newly promoted Gijon keeps the twelfth place with six games lost. Zamorano will face Tormes (#10) in Salamanca in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gijon will play at home against the league's leader Cocinas.com and hope to win that game.
