Regular Season Round 7: Capo d'Orlando - Salerno 71-98

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Salerno (6-1) smashed on the road 13th ranked Capo d'Orlando (1-6) 98-71 on Saturday. Salerno shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Massimiliano Sanna (195-88) fired 21 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. Forward Lorenzo Tortu (200-92) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Riccardo Bartolozzi (201-95) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and center Enrico Di-Coste (218-95, college: Northwood) added 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Salerno keeps a position of B leader. Loser Capo d'Orlando dropped to the fourteenth place with six games lost. Salerno will face Catania Alfa (#13) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Capo d'Orlando will play against the league's second-placed Deco in Caserta and hope to win that game.
