Rather predictable result in Las Palmas where sixth ranked Real Canoe (4-2) smashed 10th ranked Genero (2-4) 74-55 on Saturday. Real Canoe dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Genero's 30. Forward Grace Alonso de Armino (180-92, college: Freed-Hardeman, agency: ProDep Management) scored 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Macarena Roldan-Garcia (173-94) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Greek-Nigerian forward Jessica Ogunnorin (185-92, college: VCU) with 14 points and 6 rebounds and center Yaiza Garcia (190-88) scored 13 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Real Canoe moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with 3 other teams. Genero lost fourth consecutive game.
