Regular Season Round 5: Brest - Prinemanye 81-75

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Prinemanye (1-5) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Brest (3-2) 81-75. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-14. But Prinemanye won second period 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Brest won last quarter 21-17. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Prinemanye was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Anton Shchurko (188-97) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Swingman Aleksandr Tur (191-96) contributed with 19 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Brest players scored in double figures. Brest's coach Alexandr Fedorchyk allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Sergey Lemeshevskiy (192-1) answered with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Vladislav Zhmailik (190-2) added 7 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Prinemanye. Brest moved-up to fourth place. Prinemanye at the other side keeps the ninth position with five games lost. Brest will play against GOCOR-Sozh (#8) in Gomel in the next round. Prinemanye will play at home against the league's second-placed Tsmoki-Minsk to get more than just one victory in their record.
