Regular Season Round 8: Ostrow Mazow. - Siarka 72-80

There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Siarka (3-4) won against 8th ranked Ostrow Mazow. (4-4) in Ostrow Mazowiecki 80-72 on Saturday. Siarka made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Point guard Michal Baran (187-80) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Swingman Mateusz Gazarkiewicz (193-91) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Siarka players scored in double figures. Ukrainian guard Andrij Shapovalov (187-93) replied with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Piotr Barszcz (198-81) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Ostrow Mazow.Ostrow Mazow.'s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Siarka moved-up to tenth place in Group B. Loser Ostrow Mazow. dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Siarka will face Dziki Wwa (#11) in Warszawa in the next round. Ostrow Mazow. will play on the road against Start Lublin II (#12) and hope to win that game.
