Regular Season Round 8: AZS PO - Zary 66-68

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of AZS PO (6-1) in Opole on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by top-ranked Zary (6-0) 68-66. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of AZS PO. It was a key game for the second position in Group D. Zary forced 20 AZS PO turnovers. 26 personal fouls committed by AZS PO helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Mariusz Malachowski (194-85) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Mariusz Matczak (180-86) contributed with 16 points and 5 assists for the winners. Wojciech Leszczynski (190-92) replied with 22 points and 4 assists and point guard Krzysztof Chmielarz (180-88) added 14 points in the effort for AZS PO.
