Regular Season Round 8: Pleszew - Koscian 75-82

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Koscian (5-2) beat on the road 6th ranked Pleszew (3-4) 82-75 on Saturday. Pleszew was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Pawel Ciazkowski (190-86) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Norman Zuber (190-94) contributed with 4 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Mikolaj Spala (189-93) replied with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Lukasz Ptak (202-81) added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Pleszew. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Koscian have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position in Group D with 5-2 record. Pleszew lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. Koscian will face higher ranked AZS PO (#3) in Opole in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Pleszew will play on the road against Slask 2 Wroclaw (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
