Regular Season Round 14: Chiba Jets - Ryukyu GK 84-86

Very significant was Ryukyu GK's (#2) just 2-point road victory against second-ranked Chiba Jets 86-84. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Ryukyu GK players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) notched 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the former international guard Ryuichi Kishimoto (176-90) supported him with 16 points and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds by American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) did not help to save the game for Chiba Jets. The former international point guard Yuki Togashi (170-93) added 16 points for the hosts. Four Ryukyu GK and five Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. Ryukyu GK (11-3) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Nagoya DD. Chiba Jets at the other side still keep top place with four games lost. They share the position with Niigata Albirex. Ryukyu GK will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Chiba Jets will play again at home against the league's leader Ryukyu GK and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
