Regular Season Round 8: Dziki Wwa - Stal SW 90-81

There was an upset when higher ranked Stal SW (4-4) lost to twelfth ranked Dziki Wwa (3-5) in Warszawa 81-90 on Saturday. Dziki Wwa outrebounded Stal SW 40-18 including a 15-0 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Stal SW's players. Stal SW was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Rafal Holnicki-Szulc (188-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 6 points, 9 rebounds and 12 assists. Swingman Damian Tokarski (193-88) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Dziki Wwa players scored in double figures. Guard Cezary Guminski (192-94) replied with 37 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and forward Marcin Bandyga (188-97) added 12 points in the effort for Stal SW. Stal SW's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Dziki Wwa moved-up to eleventh place in Group B, which they share with Start Lublin II. Stal SW lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Dziki Wwa will face higher ranked Siarka (#10) in Tarnobrzeg in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Stal SW will play at home against the league's leader Zubry (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
