Regular Season Round 5: WIT Wildcats - Marble City Hawks 71-32

Very expected game in Waterford where 9th ranked Marble City Hawks (1-4) were crushed by third ranked WIT Wildcats (3-2) 71-32 on Saturday. WIT Wildcats held Marble City Hawks to an opponent 17.8 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.7 percent accuracy of the winners. WIT Wildcats forced 21 Marble City Hawks turnovers. The former international guard Cathy Kavanagh (187-90) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and Jasmine Walker chipped in 6 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Sheila Sheehy responded with 6 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Katie Fox (165, college: St.Francis, NY) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. WIT Wildcats will face Brunell (#8) in Cork in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Marble City Hawks will play on the road against IT Carlow and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
