There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Marghera (3-4) defeated higher ranked Carugate (3-4) in Corugate 64-59 on Saturday. Marghera made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for guard Sara Toffolo (184-0) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Alice Mandelli (172-93) contributed with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Marghera players scored in double figures. Forward Giulia Maffenini (175-92, agency: Two Points) answered with 14 points and 7 rebounds and Croatian center Lorena Molnar (194-98, agency: AgainHello) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Carugate. Marghera moved-up to tenth place in A2. Marghera will face league's second-placed Costa Masnaga at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
