Regular Season Round 7: San Giovanni - San Salvatore 87-86

A very interesting game took place in Valdarno. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 4th placed San Salvatore (5-2) to seventh ranked San Giovanni (4-2) 87-86 on Saturday evening. San Giovanni forced 35 San Salvatore turnovers and outrebounded them 45-31 including a 13-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. San Giovanni players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Argentinian swingman Macarena Rosset (178-91) fired 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds for the winners. Forward Angela Dettori (181-96) chipped in 9 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. San Giovanni's coach Orlando William allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The former international guard Cinzia Arioli (178-84, agency: LBM Management) produced 30 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international power forward Federica Brunetti (184-88, agency: SPORTlab Agency) added 20 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four San Salvatore players scored in double figures. San Giovanni maintains seventh place in A2 with 4-2 record. San Salvatore at the other side dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. San Giovanni's next round opponent will be Civitanova (#8) in Civitanova Marche.
