Regular Season Round 8: AZS AWF Mick. - AZS PCz 67-65

Ninth-ranked AZS PCz (3-5) was very close to win a game against top-ranked AZS AWF Mick. (8-0) in Katowice on Saturday. AZS AWF Mick. managed to secure only two-point victory 67-65. However their fans expected much easier game. The winners were led by Mariusz Piotrkowski (198-84) who scored that evening 24 points and 8 rebounds and guard Karol Leszczynski (190-87) supported him with 22 points and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 15 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists by Piotr Lucka (194-96) did not help to save the game for AZS PCz. Forward Nikodem Kowalski (200-95) added 15 points and 10 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. AZS AWF Mick. have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group C with 8-0 record. AZS PCz lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with five games lost. They share the position with Pogon RS and Przemysl. AZS AWF Mick. will meet AZS UJK Kielce (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. AZS PCz will play against Unia Tarnow (#7) and hope to secure a win.
