A very close game took place in Lappeenranta between Catz Lappeenranta and Forssan Alku. Fifth ranked Catz Lappeenranta (4-2) got a very close home victory over 3rd placed Forssan Alku (5-3). Catz Lappeenranta managed to escape with a 2-point win 77-75 on Saturday evening. Strangely Forssan Alku outrebounded Catz Lappeenranta 48-33 including 19 on the offensive glass. Her fellow American import guard Sydney Wallace (175-93, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 23 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. American forward Mia Loyd (180-94, college: N.Dakota) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international forward Hanna Vapamaa (181-90) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Forssan Alku players scored in double figures. Catz Lappeenranta moved-up to fourth place. Loser Forssan Alku keeps the third position with three games lost. Catz Lappeenranta will meet Kouvottaret (#5) in the next round. Forssan Alku will play against the league's leader HyPo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
