Regular Season Round 5: Adelaide - Dandenong 99-74

The game in Adelaide supposed to be also quite interesting. 5th ranked Dandenong Rangers (2-4) played at the court of seventh ranked Adelaide Lightning (3-3). Adelaide Lightning smashed Dandenong Rangers 99-74 on Saturday. They outrebounded Dandenong Rangers 38-25 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Adelaide Lightning looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The former international guard Nicole Seekamp (178-92, college: S.Dakota) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Guard Lauren Nicholson (183-93, college: St.Mary's, CA) contributed with 20 points and 6 assists (perfect behind the arc making all six shots !!!) for the winners. Five Adelaide Lightning players scored in double figures. Guard Rebecca Cole (178-92) answered with 27 points and American forward Betnijah Laney (183-93, college: Rutgers, agency: LBM Management) added 9 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Dandenong Rangers. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Adelaide Lightning moved-up to fifth place. Dandenong Rangers lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Adelaide Lightning will face Townsville Fire (#7) at home in the next round. Dandenong Rangers will play against Canberra Capitals and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
