Regular Season Round 7: Toyota A. - Fujitsu RW 71-62

There was no surprise in Nagoya where 5th ranked Fujitsu RW (3-4) was defeated by second ranked Toyota A. (6-1) 71-62. They made 17-of-19 charity shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Toyota A. outrebounded Fujitsu RW 54-28 including a 26-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Moeko Nagaoka (182-93) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds (made all of her ten free throws !!!). International center Stephanie Mawuli (181-98) accounted for 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Toyota A.'s coach Ivan Torinos allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. International point guard Mio Shinozaki (167-91) came up with 17 points and forward Chikae Uchino (176-93) added 16 points respectively for Fujitsu RW in the defeat. Toyota A. maintains second place with 6-1 record behind leader JX-Eneos S. Fujitsu RW at the other side dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Toyota A.'s next round opponent will be again Fujitsu RW (#7) in Kawasaki which should be theoretically an easy game.
