Regular Season Round 7: Denso Iris - Chanson V-M 84-67

Everything could happen in Kariya at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Denso Iris and 9th ranked Chanson V-M had identical 3-3 record. This time Denso Iris used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Shizuoka 84-67. Denso Iris dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Chanson V-M's 32. They outrebounded Chanson V-M 41-29 including 26 on the defensive glass. Denso Iris players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). The former international center Sakura Akaho (182-96) accounted for 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Denso Iris' coach Hiroshi Kojima used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The former international center Rika Tanimura (185-93) came up with 14 points and 7 rebounds and guard LiQuan Luohe (165-91) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively for Chanson V-M in the defeat. Denso Iris maintains fourth place with 4-3 record, which they share with Hitachi Cougars and Toyota B SR. Chanson V-M at the other side dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Denso Iris' next round opponent will be again Chanson V-M (#9) in Shizuoka which should be theoretically an easy game.
