No shocking result in a game when top-ranked Zubry (7-0) beat 4th ranked AZS UMCS Lbn (4-4) in Bialystok 85-78 on Sunday. They outrebounded AZS UMCS Lbn 38-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. Zubry looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Zubry made 8 blocks. Arkadiusz Zabielski (197-84) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Andrzej Misiewicz (199-84, college: Daytona St. CC) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Zubry's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Patryk Wydra (182-97) replied with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and power forward Mateusz Wisniewski (202-91) added 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for AZS UMCS Lbn. Four AZS UMCS Lbn players scored in double figures. Zubry have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group B with 7-0 record. Loser AZS UMCS Lbn keeps the fourth place with four games lost. Zubry will face Stal SW (#8) in Stalowa Wola in the next round and are hoping to win another game. AZS UMCS Lbn will play at home against Rosa II Radom (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
