Regular Season Round 8: Sudety - Gimbasket WRC 91-70

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Gimbasket WRC's (3-5) road loss to seventh ranked Sudety (4-3) in Jelenia Gora 70-91 on Sunday. Sudety looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Gimbasket WRC's players. Point guard Michal Kozak (179-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 9 assists. Rafal Niesobski (189-82) contributed with 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Sudety players scored in double figures. Forward Michal Pietrzak (199-93) replied with 18 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Luka Malachow (184-94) added 11 points and 4 assists in the effort for Gimbasket WRC. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sudety moved-up to fifth place in Group D, which they share with Slask 2 Wroclaw. Loser Gimbasket WRC dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. Sudety will face Rawia (#11) in Rawicz in the next round where they are favorite. Gimbasket WRC will play on the road against Nysa in Otmuchow and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
