Regular Season Round 15: Hiroshima D. - Tokyo Z 98-89

The game between Top Four teams took place in Hiroshima. First ranked host Dragonflies (14-1) defeated 3rd placed Tokyo Z (8-7) 98-89. Dragonflies made 27-of-33 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. Tokyo Z was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Jamari Traylor (203-92, college: Kansas) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 16 rebounds and 5 assists (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field). The former international forward Shogo Asayama (192-81) accounted for 30 points and 5 assists for the winning side. American center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds and guard Takumi Masuko (186-91) added 17 points, 10 assists and 5 steals respectively for Tokyo Z in the defeat. Five Tokyo Z players scored in double figures. Dragonflies have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Newly promoted Dragonflies maintains first place with 14-1 record. Tokyo Z lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the third position with seven games lost. They share it with Gunma. Dragonflies will play against league's leader Sendai 89ers at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tokyo Z will play against Yamagata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
