Regular Season Round 8: Yamanashi QB - Mitsubishi K. 57-86

Bottom-ranked Yamanashi QB is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their eighth consecutive match to third ranked Mitsubishi K. (6-2) 86-57. Mitsubishi K. dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Yamanashi QB's 32. They outrebounded Yamanashi QB 52-38 including 20 on the offensive glass. Mitsubishi K. players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Yamanashi QB's players. The best player for the winners was the former international center Asako Oh (189-87) who scored 23 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!). The former international center Risa Nishioka (186-97) chipped in 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Mitsubishi K.'s coach Koga Kyoko felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Uchibori Murasaki (165-94) produced 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Nago Mizuno (171-94) added 17 points respectively for the hosts. Mitsubishi K. have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Toyota A. Yamanashi QB at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. Mitsubishi K.'s next round opponent will be Hitachi Cougars (#8) in Hitachinaka where they are favorite. Yamanashi QB will play at home against Chanson V-M (#10) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
