The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Diamond Dolphins as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Diamond Dolphins smashed 4th placed Akita Happinets in Nagoya 79-54. Diamond Dolphins forced 24 Akita Happinets turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a good game for American Markeith Cummings (198-88, college: Kennesaw St.) who led his team to a victory with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) contributed with 7 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Justin Keenan (202-88, college: Ferris St.) answered with 21 points and 6 rebounds and Bahamas power forward Kadeem Coleby (206-89, college: Wichita St.) added 6 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Akita Happinets. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Newly promoted Akita Happinets dropped to the fifth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Hokkaido L.. Akita Happinets will play next round against league's leader Niigata Albirex trying to get back on the winning streak. Diamond Dolphins will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Aishin Sea Horses at Kariya.
