Regular Season Round 15: Kawasaki BT - Toyota Alvark 70-87

An interesting game was played in Kanagawa where Toyota Alvark (#3) beat host Toshiba Thunders (#2) with 17-point difference 87-70 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Toshiba Thunders. Toyota Alvark looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Jawad Williams (204-83, college: N.Carolina) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) helped adding 14 points and 11 rebounds. Five Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) with 27 points and 9 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and American power forward Vernon Macklin (208-86, college: Florida) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Toshiba Thunders' coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion maintains third place with 10-5 record having just two points less than leader Tochigi Brex. Toshiba Thunders at the other side keep the second position with six games lost. They share it with Toyama Grouses and Kyoto Hannar.. Toyota Alvark will meet league's second-placed Ryukyu GK in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Toshiba Thunders will play against Hokkaido L. in Saporro and hope to secure a win.
