Regular Season Round 6: Zabok - Cibona 73-74

The most exciting game of round 6 in the Premijer Liga took place in Zabok. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 9th ranked KK Zabok (2-4) to second ranked Cibona (5-1) 74-73 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 25-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Cibona made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 KK Zabok turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Damir Markota (209-85) who scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Serbian guard Marko Ljubicic (195-87, agency: PEPI SPORT) chipped in 11 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Kresimir Radovcic (195-97) who recorded 18 points and 5 assists and forward Ivan Batur (201-91, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 19 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Cibona maintains second position with 5-1 record behind leader Cedevita. KK Zabok at the other side dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. They share the position with Gorica and Sibenik. Cibona are looking forward to face KK Vrijednosnice Osijek (#5) at home in the next round. KK Zabok will play against KK Skrljevo and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
