Regular Season Round 10: Jilin NE T. - Xinjiang FT 115-117

A very close game took place in Changchun between Xinjiang Flying Tige and Jilin Tigers. Sixth ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (7-3) got a very close victory on the road over 13th ranked Jilin Tigers (4-6). Xinjiang Flying Tige managed to escape with a 2-point win 117-115 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Jilin Tigers. Xinjiang Flying Tige made 27-of-31 free shots (87.1 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American-Bulgarian point guard Darius Adams (188-89, college: Indianapolis, agency: IPZ) notched a double-double by scoring 44 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 16 assists to lead the effort and American power forward Al Jefferson (208-85) supported him with 24 points and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 32 points and 18 rebounds by Polish-Swedish power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85) did not help to save the game for Jilin Tigers. American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) added 32 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Jilin Tigers' coach gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Xinjiang Flying Tige have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Jilin Tigers dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost. They share it with Jiangsu D. and Shanxi Z.. Xinjiang Flying Tige will meet at home Flying Leopards (#5) in the next round. Jilin Tigers will play against Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#7) and hope to secure a win.
