Everything went according to plan in Azkoitia where sixth ranked Rioja (4-2) beat 10th ranked Cortegada (2-4) 83-76 on Sunday. Rioja forced 20 Cortegada turnovers. Cortegada was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Russian power forward Mariya Davydova (190-93, college: FIU, agency: ProDep Management) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 20 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Canadian swingman Jessica Fequiere (180-93, college: Albany) chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Rioja players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was swingman Salome Garcia (175-92, agency: ProDep Management) with 22 points and 4 assists and Cristina Loureiro (183-94) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds.
