Regular Season Round 6: Oulun NMKY - Korikouvot 99-73

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Oulun NMKY (4-2) rolled over at home 9th ranked Korikouvot (2-4) 99-73 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Oulun NMKY. Korikouvot was better in fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Oulun NMKY forced 23 Korikouvot turnovers. It was a good game for American power forward Brian Moultrie (198-87, college: Armstr.Atlantic) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 5 blocks. The other American import swingman Shon Briggs (198-95, college: CSU Bakersfield) contributed with 21 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Briggs is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four Oulun NMKY players scored in double figures. Oulun NMKY's coach Jussi Eskola felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Henri Permanto (197-1) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and Saifaldin Majeed added 9 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Korikouvot. Oulun NMKY maintains fourth position in Division with 4-2 record. Loser Korikouvot keeps the ninth place with four games lost. Oulun NMKY will have a break next round. Korikouvot will play on the road against HBA-Marsky (#7) in Helsinki and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
