Regular Season Round 6: Jazine - Dubrovnik 96-80

The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Jazine as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Jazine defeated 7th ranked KK Dubrovnik in Zadar 96-80. The game was mostly controlled by Jazine. KK Dubrovnik managed to win fourth quarter 29-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded KK Dubrovnik 44-31 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Jazine especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. It was a good game for American swingman Preston Bungei (198-95, college: Norfolk St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Slovenian point guard Mirza Sarajlija (187-91) contributed with 26 points for the winners. Power forward Ivan Vodopija (202-93) replied with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Petar Dubelj (178-97) added 19 points in the effort for KK Dubrovnik. Four Jazine and five KK Dubrovnik players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jazine have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Sonik Puntamika. Newly promoted KK Dubrovnik dropped to the eighth place with three games lost. KK Dubrovnik will play next round against Bulldogs trying to get back on the winning streak. Jazine will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Universitas in Split.
