Regular Season Round 8: Martos - Novaschool 80-67

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Martos and bottom-ranked Novaschool had identical 0-5 record. This time Martos used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Malaga 80-67 on Sunday night. The best player for the winners was Argentinian point guard Gaston Zalazar (-96) who scored 28 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Julian Aviles (185-98) chipped in 18 points. Four Martos players scored in double figures. Pablo Villanueva produced 22 points and center Anastasio Vazquez (204-92) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Martos maintains ninth position in Group D-A with 1-5 record. It was Novaschool's sixth loss in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. Martos will face higher ranked Andujar (#7) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Novaschool's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Malaga Unicaja-Andalucia.
