Top ranked Jugla (4-2) recorded its second loss in Riga. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Talsi (4-2) 74-67. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Jugla. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Jugla won third quarter 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Talsi forced 22 Jugla turnovers. Jugla was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Dinass Talents (181-0) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 11 steals. Forward Niks Mals (191-1) contributed with 20 points and 5 steals for the winners. Point guard Eduards Jumis (160-1) answered with 8 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and guard Julijs Stankevics (161-1) added 11 points in the effort for Jugla. Jugla's coach Janis Laksa rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Talsi have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Jugla. Talsi will play against Ogre (#7) at home in the next round. Jugla will play against Valmiera (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
