Date: November 11, 2018
Rather predictable result when leader Peristeri GS (5-0) won against 7th ranked Ifestos (2-3) in Athens 89-81. The hosts were already 17 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 27-18 Ifestos' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 89-81 at the end of the game. Peristeri GS dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Ifestos' 28 and made 24-of-27 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Peristeri GS players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Ifestos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American-Jamaican guard Ryan Harrow (188-91, college: Georgia St.) who scored 18 points and 8 assists. The former international forward Panagiotis Vasilopoulos (202-84, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. Five Peristeri GS players scored in double figures. American Sean Evans (203-88, college: St.John's) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import Toddrick Gotcher (190-93, college: Texas Tech) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Peristeri GS. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Panathinaikos and Olympiacos. Ifestos at the other side keeps the seventh place with three games lost. Peristeri GS's next round opponent will be Aris (#7) in Thessaloniki which should be theoretically an easy game. Ifestos will play at home against PAOK and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
