Regular Season Round 12: Aaguacateros - Capitanes 100-97

The most exciting game of round 12 in the LNBP took place in Michoacan. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-best Capitanes (8-3) to first ranked Aaguacateros (9-2) 100-97 in the game for the first place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Capitanes. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Strangely Capitanes outrebounded Aaguacateros 46-32 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Colombian guard Michaell Jackson (190-87) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and the former international power forward Arim Solares (202-83) who added 23 points and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Dominican guard Rigoberto Mendoza (190-92) with a triple-double by scoring 19 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists and Cuban center Ismael Romero (203-91) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds. Four Aaguacateros and five Capitanes players scored in double figures. Aaguacateros maintains first position with 9-2 record. Capitanes at the other side keep the second place with three games lost. They share the position with Fuerza Regia. Aaguacateros are again looking forward to face league's second-placed Capitanes in Mexico in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Capitanes will have a break next round.
