Regular Season Round 12: Mineros - Huracanes 98-64

LNBP top team - Mineros (10-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Huracanes (0-11) 98-64. Mineros dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Huracanes' 30. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Huracanes' players. It was a good game for Dominican-Puerto Rican swingman Jonathan Rodriguez (196-87, college: Campbell) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 4 assists. American forward Wendell McKines (198-88, college: N.Mexico St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized American guard Martin Samarco (190-85, college: Bowling Green) replied with 18 points and American forward Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-94, college: Towson) added 8 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Huracanes. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mineros have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-1 record. Newly promoted Huracanes still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Mineros' next round opponent will be again Huracanes (#7) in Tampico where they are favorite.
