There was no surprise in Santander where 9th ranked Baskonia B (3-5) was crushed by seventh ranked Estela (5-3) 90-60 on Wednesday. Estela forced 24 Baskonia B turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Baskonia B's players. The best player for the winners was Chadian center Placide Nakidjim (205-94) who scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Lamonte Thomas (187-90, college: J.and Wales, RI) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Estela players scored in double figures. Argentinian point guard Lautaro Lopez (188-99) produced 18 points and 6 rebounds and Latvian Arturs Kurucs (192-0) added 13 points respectively for the guests. Baskonia B's coach Miguel Angel Hoyo gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Estela moved-up to fifth place in Silver. Loser Baskonia B dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Estela will face Marin (#7) on the road in the next round. Baskonia B will play against Zornotza and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
