Regular Season Round 4: Gimnasia LP - Ciclista 91-79

There was a surprise result in La Plata where eighth ranked Gimnasia LP (1-5) won against higher ranked Ciclista (3-4) 91-79 on Wednesday. Gimnasia LP shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Ciclista's players. Ciclista was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward DelVin Dickerson (198-93, college: N.C.Central) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Leonardo La-Bella (184-86) chipped in 18 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Maximiliano Rios (182-81) produced 19 points and Cuban swingman Marvin Cairo (201-91) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Gimnasia LP and four Ciclista players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gimnasia LP left bottom position moving up to sixth place, which they share with Progreso Roca. It was Ciclista's third loss in a row. They keep the fourth position with four games lost. Gimnasia LP will face higher ranked Chivilcoy Racing (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ciclista will play against Parque Sur in Concepcion de Urug. and hope to win that game.
