Regular Season Round 9: Brasilia - Botafogo F.R. 82-64

Brasilia can celebrate finally their first win this season after six consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Botafogo F.R. (4-4) 82-64. Brasilia shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Botafogo F.R. was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American guard Zach Graham (198-89, college: Mississippi, agency: Pro Sports) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 5 rebounds. Venezuelan center Windi Graterol (204-86, agency: Pro Sports) contributed with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Center Ralfi Ansaloni (211-87) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and guard Caue-Borges dos-Santos (187-91) added 20 points in the effort for Botafogo F.R.Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Brasilia maintains fourteenth place with 1-6 record. Botafogo F.R. at the other side keeps the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Joinville and Minas. Brasilia will play against higher ranked Joinville (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Botafogo F.R. will have a break next round.
