Regular Season Round 13: Mineros - Huracanes 91-66

Leader Mineros delivered the eleventh victory on Thursday night. This time they crushed bottom-ranked Huracanes (0-12) 91-66. Mineros dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Huracanes' 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Huracanes' players. American guard Jordan Williams (198-92, college: N.Texas) fired 19 points for the winners. The former international power forward Fernando Benitez (204-89) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Mineros players scored in double figures. Mineros' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-94, college: Towson) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds and swingman Manuel Hernandez (193-91) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Mineros (11-1) have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place. Newly promoted Huracanes still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Mineros will face Abejas (#6) in Guanajuato in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Huracanes will play at home against Panteras and hope to get finally their first victory.
