Sixth-ranked Santos (3-9) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Laguneros (7-5) in Torreon on Thursday. Laguneros managed to secure only one-point victory 82-81. However their fans expected easier game. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Carl Hall (202-89, college: Wichita St.) stepped up and scored 27 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and forward Mychal Ammons (198-92, college: S.Alabama) chipped in 19 points and 13 rebounds. At the losing side forward Lyonell Gaines (198-93, college: Morehead St.) responded with 21 points and 8 rebounds and guard Roberto Nelson (190-91, college: Oregon St., agency: Best of You Sports) scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Laguneros have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Lenadores and Panteras. Santos lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with Angeles. Laguneros will meet at home Soles (#4) in the next round. Santos will play against Angeles and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
