Regular Season Round 6: Snaefell - Thor AK 61-96

D1 top team - Thor AK (5-1) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Snaefell (0-6) in Stykkisholmur 96-61. The game without a history. Thor AK led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-20 free shots (95.0 percent) during the game. Thor AK forced 20 Snaefell turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Kristjan Andresson (188-91) who scored 25 points and 8 rebounds. Croatian forward Damir Mijic (201-87) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Thor AK players scored in double figures. Thor AK's coach Larus Jonsson felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward DJ Mason (198-94, college: Campbell) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and guard Runar Ragnarsson (192-93) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Thor AK maintains first position with 5-1 record, which they share with Vestri. Loser Snaefell still closes the standings with six games lost. Thor AK will meet at home league's second-placed Vestri in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Snaefell will play against Sindri (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
