Regular Season Round 7: Stjarnan - Tindastoll 68-77
Date: November 16, 2018
The game in Stjarnan was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Tindastoll (6-1) played at the court of 5th ranked Stjarnan (4-3). Tindastoll managed to secure a 9-point victory 77-68. The guests were already 13 points ahead at halftime and as many as 19 after three quarters before a 27-17 last quarter charge of Stjarnan cut the lead to 77-68 at the end of the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Urald King (198-90, college: SE Oklahoma) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. The former international guard Brynjar Bjornsson (188-88, college: Francis Marion) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Tindastoll's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Paul Jones (198-89, college: W.Washington) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and the former international point guard Aegir Steinarsson (185-91, college: Newberry, agency: Duran International) added 15 points and 6 assists in the effort for Stjarnan. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tindastoll keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Keflavik and Njardvik. Stjarnan at the other side keeps the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with IR. Tindastoll will play against IR (#6) in Reykjavik in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Stjarnan will play on the road against Njardvik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
