No shocking result in a game when twelfth ranked Real Canoe (4-4) beat 14th ranked Castello (2-6) in Madrid 72-65 on Friday. Castello was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Jose-Miguel Perez (202-96) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds. Center Jose-Maria Gil (207-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American center Nick Washburn (208-91, college: Hillsdale, agency: Duran International) replied with 18 points and naturalized Dominican power forward Juan-Jose Garcia (201-89, agency: Duran International) added 10 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Castello. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Real Canoe moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Ourense and Melilla. Castello lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with six games lost. Real Canoe will face higher ranked Lleida Basquet (#4) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Castello will play against Barca II (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
