Regular Season Round 2: Batumi - Cactus Tbilisi 89-85

An interesting game for Batumi (2-0) which hosted in Batumi Cactus Tbilisi (1-1). Batumi managed to get a 4-point victory 89-85. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Cactus Tbilisi won fourth quarter 21-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Batumi dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Cactus Tbilisi's 34. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The former international guard Nodar Gogodze (191-94) scored 24 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian center Stefan Andrejevic (209-93) chipped in 14 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Batumi's coach George Kazanjian allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Anthony January (203-93, college: CS San Bernar.) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 19 rebounds and 4 blocks and his fellow American import guard BJ Glasford (193-95, college: Stetson) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four Cactus Tbilisi players scored in double figures. Batumi will play against Olimpi (#3) in Tbilisi in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Cactus Tbilisi will play at home against Delta to get more than just one victory in their record.
