Regular Season Round 6: Gries/Oberhoffen - Rouen 85-92

Date: November 16, 2018
Everything could happen in Bischwiller at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked SPO Rouen and 10th ranked Gries/Oberhoffen had identical 2-3 record. But Gries/Oberhoffen was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Rouen 92-85 on Friday night. SPO Rouen forced 19 Gries/Oberhoffen turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Jamar Diggs (190-88, college: Wofford, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 30 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Point guard Jean-Baptiste Maille (190-93) chipped in 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Olivier Cortale (207-97) who recorded 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and Lithuanian forward Darius Tarvydas (200-91) added 20 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gries/Oberhoffen's coach Ludovic Pouillart rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. SPO Rouen (3-3) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Gries/Oberhoffen dropped to the eleventh position with four games lost. SPO Rouen will face higher ranked JA Vichy (#4) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gries/Oberhoffen will play against Paris (#18) and hope to win that game.
