Regular Season Round 6: Fjolnir - Hottur 87-91

The most important game in the last round took place in Reykjavik between second ranked Fjolnir (4-2) and fifth ranked Hottur (3-2) on Friday night. Fjolnir was defeated by Hottur in a tough game at home 87-91. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Fjolnir. The guests trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-87. Strangely Fjolnir outrebounded Hottur 40-26 including 30 on the defensive glass. American guard Charles Clark (188-96, college: Carson-Newman) scored 23 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Spanish forward David Guardia (200-90, agency: Players Group) chipped in 16 points during the contest. Four Hottur players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Anton Grady (203-92, college: Wichita St.) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and guard Robert Sigurdsson (187-94) scored 23 points and 6 rebounds. Hottur maintains fifth position with 3-2 record. Fjolnir at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Hamar. Hottur are looking forward to face FSU (#6) in Selfoss in the next round. Fjolnir will play on the road against Hamar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
