Regular Season Round 16: Ehime OV - Kanazawa Sam. 90-73

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Matsuyama. Fourth ranked Orange Vikings faced one of their biggest challengers Kanazawa Sam.. Host Orange Vikings (6-11) defeated guests from Ishikawa (4-13) 90-73. Orange Vikings dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Kanazawa Sam.'s 36. They outrebounded Kanazawa Sam. 52-40 including 43 on the defensive glass. Orange Vikings looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) fired a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 22 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Guard Keisuke Takabatake (183-90) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Jamaican-American power forward Ryan Reid (204-86, college: Florida St.) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and American power forward Denzel Bowles (208-89, college: JMU) added 7 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Orange Vikings maintains fourth position with 6-11 record. Kanazawa Sam. lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
