Regular Season Round 9: Pogon RS - Dobrodzien 82-64

There was a minor upset in Ruda Slaska where 9th ranked Dobrodzien (4-5) was defeated by twelfth ranked Pogon RS (4-5) 82-64 on Saturday. Pogon RS dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Dobrodzien's 24. Pogon RS forced 20 Dobrodzien turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Dobrodzien's players. Center Tomasz Stankala (202-91) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and point guard Mateusz Pawlik (180-92) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was guard Michal Ciesla (188-81) with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Maciej Piszczek (203-96) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Dobrodzien players scored in double figures. Dobrodzien's coach rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Pogon RS moved-up to seventh place in Group C, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Dobrodzien. Pogon RS will face Przemysl (#11) on the road in the next round.
